To my dearest teacher Sh Hemant Laskar: all the best for the second innings!

Wednesday, 28 October: In my alma mater, #RamjasCollege, #DelhiUniversity, with the greatest human being and teacher I have known personally, Shri #HemantLaskar who turns 65 this month and is all set to start his second innings.
A man of few words , Mr Laskar, a #DelhiSchoolOfEconomics (#DSE) topper of early 70s, started his teaching career with
St Stephen's but soon moved to Ramjas (Deptt of #Economics) and spent 42 years doing what he does the best:
#teaching, #coaching (in football he had represented the University and the State in his student days) and leading
#anti_corruption_campaigns from the front.
To many he was an icon for his pioneering and daring relief work immediately after the
#anti_Sikh #DelhiRiots in 1984. He led the students and staff to come out in the open defying the shoot at sight orders to reach out to the victims.
Thanks to him, when some students of nearby colleges were busy sharing the booty with the rioters, #Ramjasians were the first to be with the victims. Later it became and example for the rest of the campus and all walked hand in hand to lend a helping hand to the needy.
