Reservation revisited: Valmiki, Vyas, Ambedkar and Nehru

While talking of the relevance of RESERVATION, please recall how many times you challenged yourself to go beyond your caste, region, Faith and personal gain while deciding on an issue of importance?
How many times did you keep the institutional interest above everything?

If the answer is  'yes, many times' , RESERVATION will automatically go off, you don't have to bring in the Ant-Grasshoppers story...

Mostly the higher we scale up the ladder, the less of spine we are left with.
Another test.
Ask yourself,  ' who do I dislike the most? Isn't it the person who tends to act institutionally with no regard for his personal or friends' interests?'...
If the answer is YES, the society needs reservation from you and for those you are ill-disposed to...

When you had VYAS and VALMIKI ( both Shudras) to give you the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, you had no need to have RESERVATION...

But when with Dr Ambedkar in your ranks, who had double Ph.D -one in Law from Columbia and the other in Economics from LSE, Nehru wanted a German professor to head the Constitution Drafting Committee, it was RESERVATION (in the shape of Gandhi using his might to get Ambedkar as the committee chairman) that saved our constitution from being drafted by a foreigner...

Why? Because Nehru refused to acknowledge the intellectual worth of Ambedkar as the latter didn't belong to the aristocratic BLUE BLOOD.

Let's pray to the Almighty to bless us with the courage to accept the worth of modern VYASAS, VALMIKIS and today's AMBEDKARS.

They will give a damn to your RESERVATION sooner than later...
You and your reservation will run after them, not vice versa...
