Nehru-Gandhis remind us of the Mahabharata's Dhritarashtra-Gandhari
The story of Nehru-Gandhis is partly the story of Dhritarashtra-Gandhari of the Mahabharata fame. These two epic characters were overwhelmed by their blind pursuit of power which ultimately left none alive for whom the pursuit was meant.
But Nehru-Gandhis--while playing Dhritarashtra -Gandhari-- ensured that in the post-1947 Maha-Bharat, it is they who emerged victorious come what may. But the year 2014 saw the return of the Pandavas who had become conspicuous through their absence from the public memory.
Nehru-Gandhis today are haunted by the ghosts of Mahatma Gandhi, Patel, Bose, Ambedkar and Shyama Prasad Mookherjee whose attorney-incarnate is none other than Dr Subramanian Swamy who is the most reverentially feared person in today's India.
