Dictatorship through the front door of democracy

Democracy has failed globally in dealing with the threat of Jihad because of the politics of vote bank that reduces a citizen to just a 'consumer' ever ready to sell his votes for petty gains. It is in view of this that Gandhi,  defying political correctness of his time,  had termed the British parliament as a "barren woman" and a "prostitute" (Hind Swaraj, 1909).
Consequently,  the rise of Right Wing has become a global phenomenon. Moreover,  people are welcoming Dictatorship through the front door of democracy.
Modi, Trump or Putin are examples of this global trend.

Note: The spirit of Gandhi's quotes is acceptable not the form as the moral standards of a prostitute or a barren woman would generally be unmatched by an average self-serving practitioner of politics.
