Women on 'Men and Menses'

In a workshop on Menstrual Hygiene Management organized by Jago Gaon Ngo today at the Gandhi Shanti Pratishthan, New Delhi, more than 100 women of all age groups and classes gathered to share their experiences. Their resolution: Let's TALK, TALK, TALK and TALK about MENSTRUATION as freely and openly as we can. And, most of all, it is not WOMEN VS MEN. It is as much about MEN & MENSES!

'संस्कृति के चार अध्याय' की स्वर्ण जयंती

22 मई को दिल्ली के विज्ञान भवन में दिनकर की सुप्रसिद्ध  रचनायें 'संस्कृति के चार अध्याय' और'परशुराम की प्रतीक्षा' का स्वर्ण जयंती समारोह मनाया गया जिसमें  इतने दिनकर प्रेमी जमा हो गए कि बहुतों को प्रवेश नहीं मिला। बाद में आसपास पेड़ों की छाँव में दिनकर की कविता और गद्य खासकर  'संस्कृति के चार अध्याय' पर वे लोग चर्चा करते देखे गये।
इस स्वर्णजयंती समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि थे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और आयोजन समिति के मुखिया थे पूर्व केन्द्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री, लोकनायक जयप्रकाश नारायण के निजी चिकित्सक रहे सांसद  डा. सी पी ठाकुर  जो कालाजार के ईलाज के लिए विश्वविख्यात हैं ।
नेहरू जी की 'भारत एक खोज ' को अगर आप पठनीय पुस्तक मानते हैं तो दिनकर जी की 'संस्कृति के चार अध्याय' बार-बार पढ़ने लायक और जीवन में बरतने लायक पुस्तक है ।
कवि केदारनाथ सिंह अक्सर कहते थे कि जब दिनकर का काव्य नहीं   रहेगा तब भी उनका गद्य खासकर' संस्कृति के चार अध्याय' उन्हें हमेशा हमारे बीच जिन्दा रखेगा । खुद दिनकर ने लिखा है कि आने वाली पीढ़ियाँ उनकी इस पुस्तक को अपनाएँगी ।अगर मैं हिन्दी नहीं जानता तो इस पुस्तक  को मूल भाषा में नहीं पढ़ पाने का अनिवर्चनीय अफसोस होता ।
 'परशुराम की प्रतीक्षा' की रचना चीनी हमले के बाद हुई थी और यह कवि के गुस्से और संवेदना का अद्भुत संगम है I

भगवान हो तो सलमान जैसा :इस देश का यारों क्या कहना !

अन्याय पर भी जश्न मनाने की हिम्मत जिस समाज के नागरिकों में हो , उस देश और समाज का यारों क्या कहना!
हजारों साल पहले सूख चुकी सरस्वती नदी को हम अंतःसलीला मानकर याद करते हैं पर सलमान खान ने नशे में अपनी गाड़ी से फुटपाथ पर सोते जिन लोगों की जान ले ली उन्हें या उनके बीवी-बच्चों को हम याद नहीं रखना चाहते ।
क्या हम यह नहीं मानते कि भले ही राम ने बाली को छिपकर मारा हो लेकिन बाली गया तो स्वर्ग ही न? फिर हमारा आज का स्टार दो-चार फुटपाथी लोगों को स्वर्गीय बना दे तो हमें उसका अहसानमंद होना चाहिए कि नहीं?
वरना इन्हें जानता ही कौन? ऐसी मौतें तो होती रहती है! भगवान हो तो  सलमान जैसा...

सेकुलर -दलित बुद्धिविलासी ब्रिगेड नेपाल में राहत कार्य में जुटी भारत सरकार से खफा है

सेकुलर -दलित बुद्धिविलासी ब्रिगेड आजकल नेपाल में राहत कार्य में जुटी भारत सरकार से बेहद खफा है. मोदी नापसंद तो भारत सरकार क्यों पसंद? काश ये महान लोग बाबासाहब के बौद्ध् धर्म स्वीकार के पह्ले इस विचार को ही समझ लेते कि उन्होंने ईसाई या इस्लाम मत क्यों नहीं स्वीकारा? वैसे ये लोग कम चतुर-चालाक नहीं. जानते सब हैं पर करते वही हैं जिससे इनकी दुकानदारी चलती रहे.
ये वही सेकुलर लोग हैं जिन्होंने  भारत पर चीन के हमले का येह कहकर स्वागत किया था कि पूरब दिशा से लाल किरन भारत में आ रही है. ये वही लोग हैं जिन्होंने पाकिस्तान निर्माण का समर्थन  किया था. ये वही लोग हैं जिन्होंने नेहरू  जी और अंग्रेज़ों की  भक्ति में नेताजी को जीतेजी मार दिया जब नेताजी को स्टालिन ने नेहरू के कहने पर क़ैद कर मास्को भेज दिया था.
अंत में ये वही लोग हैं जो हरचंद कोशिश कर रहे हैं कि बाबासाहेब के जीवन और विचार  से देशप्रेम  और स्वस्थ-परम्परा-प्रेम को गौण कर सिर्फ विरोध पर ध्यान टिकाया जाय. दोस्तो ,यह सूचना  का युग है और यह सेकुलर -दलित बुद्धिविलासी ब्रिगेड साठ साल पुरानी तकनीक के खोल से बाहर निकलने को तैयार नहीं.

Nepal Tragedy, Indian Media & Sino-Pak Conspiracy

Just saw a letter in CNN, written to Indian media from one Sunita Shakya. After the Heading, it so much pained me, I felt, I must publish my comments here because it is very sensitive issue and touches the hearts of the people in both our countries at such a sad time. The relationship is based not on formality but on age old Love and living together. But it seems Ms Sunita Shakya,is too much disturbed by the tragic scenes, and has lost bit of rationality. She has forgotten that every one has a defined role. Does she mean Reporters must not go to any place to cover tragey as they would occupy seats? and they instead of reporting should involve in first aid only? Ridiculous madam are your ideas. Knave and biased. May be there are Reporters who lack enough touch of humanity or are eclipsed by negative professionalism, but you cannot deny that whatever has been brought to you on TV that gives some idea of what is happening in the troubled Himalayan country, is brought to you by these very untrained Reporters. True, our economy or that of Nepal for that matter, is not quite rich to afford all professional training to Reporters. Most of them just survive under sword of retrenchment. and have no support system to improve themselves. You too spent a lot of time debasing them - the time could have been used in reaching Nepal and doing something for the victims but may be you have some other more important assignments and i hope you will do your part in future. You have not reached your country but they went to the place under peril of their life when everyone was trying to escape out. one of the reporters, (i just saw his snap) is ill and he is resting in a car as there is no bed in hospital. . Kindly bear with the human shortcomings -especially if they are not ill intended.

One thing more, I visited and reported Nepal several times and found that the Chinese and Pakistani agencies have been trying hard to vitiate the Indo-Nepal relationship in a concerted manner. Kindly see the comments on the CNN report. Was there not a single work of appreciation by Indian media? But all the comments are against it without substantiating or without quoting any specific incident. Indian media is not a monolith like that of China and not jaundiced as that of Pakistan. It is one of the most free media in the entire world and has been very alert about maintaining its freedom. yes it is in the process of maturing up like the democracy that you have arrived at. it is just a matter of stages and will be eventually cured. So kindly introspect and check before generalizing such a sensitive issue. I hope you will not allow yourself to be used by those who want to vitiate the relationship. At least hold on till the tragedy is over. This is not a time for mudslinging on those who have gone to your country with a helping hand. First go there, do something, see for yourself and then make a comment. Namaste.
